Ms. Aleliunaite is responsible for digital information and cybersecurity at the European Parliament and has been deeply involved in the development of key EU digital governance regulations, including the widely discussed General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the EU Artificial Intelligence Act (EU AI Act). Drawing on her extensive expertise in digital governance, she will explain how the EU has developed an influential institutional framework to navigate the rapidly changing global digital landscape and how it strengthens digital governance to address modern challenges and opportunities. This lecture offers a unique opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the history and institutional workings of the EU, while also providing valuable insights into how the EU is shaping the global governance framework in the digital age.
