Join us as we continue our Indigenous Knowledge lecture series in partnership with our visiting faculty and students from Western Sydney University. Lecture Topic: Networking Atmosphere! Assembly Dancing at the Hualien United Harvest Festival Location and Time: College of Indigenous Studies Room A313 12/12/2022 10:00-12:00 Lecturer: Dr. Ming Smith (Atayal) Assistant Professor in the Department of Ethnic Relations and Cultures. Dr. Smith received her PhD in Sociology from Lancaster University, UK. Drawing on contemporary theories in tourist studies, psychology, architecture, the arts, and human geography, her research has been exploring the relationship between the atmosphere and the tourist experience. She is interested in tourists’ bodily experiences in places of tourism; sensory experiences above and beyond visual phenomena/tourist gaze; cultural festivals and tourist events; and the impacts of tourism on the social and cultural development of Taiwanese Indigenous peoples.
