Dr. Carlos Gigoux（University of Essex）演講 : Indigenous Rights in A Global World

《世界原住民族權利宣言》從草案開始，經過了長久的對話與攻防，終於在2007年於聯合國大會中通過。
2017年，我們回顧整個過程的同時，更應該理解落實的狀況。
致力於學術扎根與實踐的東華大學「東臺灣人文與環境研究及社會實踐中心」以及
「原民院原住民族國際事務中心」共同邀請今年初出版Indigenous Peoples and Colonialism: Global Perspectives 的共同作者之一，
英國University of Essex的Carlos Gigoux博士進行公開演講。
Dr. Gigoux研究聚焦全球脈絡下的原住民族，特別是南美、東亞和南太平洋的原住民族，
近年來他經常受邀到日本北海道大學進行講座，並開始關注臺灣的狀況。

Dr. Carlos Gigoux (University of Essex) speaks on 'Indigenous Rights in A Global World: 10 Years of the United Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP)  at the College of Indigenous Studies

Eastern Taiwan Environmental Humanities Research and Social Practice Center joins the Office of International Indigenous Affairs, College of Indigenous Studies in hosting a talk by Dr. Carlos Gigoux. Dr. Gigoux is Lecturer from the Department of Sociology, University of Essex and specializes in indigenous peoples' issues, particularly that of South America, East Asian and the South Pacific. He has recently published a book entitled Indigenous Peoples and Colonialism: Global Perspectives.
