【歷史系聖經讀書會】
各位師長、同仁及同學大家好：
歷史系貝克定老師於本學期舉辦「聖經讀書會」，
關於讀書會的資訊如下，歡迎有興趣的師長、同仁及同學參加。

Bible and History 4 – Reading Group  103-1聖經讀書會

聖經除了是宗教書籍之外，也是了解西方文化價值的基本書籍。聖經讀書會已經舉辦四個學期了，這學期我們將繼續閱讀舊約中關於以色列與其他部落之間的戰爭，以及一些關於大衛王、所羅門王的詩篇和敘述。如果時間足夠的話，將會再討論之後的一些故事。

為了幫助同學們的英文能力，我們每個禮拜會閱讀三頁的英文版聖經。在討論的時候你可以選擇用英語或中文討論。我們討論的地點是在文A206，時間是每周三的下午7:00~8:30，但10/1(三)的討論時間因故提早到5:00~6:00。你可以在你有空的時間過來，我們會提供讀本，或者你可以加入我們的社團，我們在社團上會提供電子讀本。

In addition to being a book of religion, the Bible is the basis of much of the cultural values, the language and the history of West. For the fourth semester of this reading group, we will continue with the Old Testament history of the Israelites as they evolved from a tribal group into a kingdom at war with their neighbors. We will read through the histories of King David and King Solomon and then move on to the psalms and other writings that are attributed to them, as well as later stories in the Old Testament, as time allows.

To help practice English, we read about three pages a week in an English version of the Bible. Discussion can be either in English or Chinese, as you feel comfortable. We meet every week in 文A206. The usual meeting time is on Wednesdays from 7:00 to 8:30, although the first meeting, on October 1, will be from 5:00 to 6:00. Please feel free to drop in any week that you are free. We will have extra readings available, or you can get them from our Facebook page. See you there!
