活動說明 Because the incidence of lung cancer is high and the mortality due to lung cancer is also high among all cancers, because low-dose computed tomography (LDCT) lung cancer screening is a viable tool for early detection of lung cancer, and because LDCT incurs harm due to radiation and over-diagnosis, selection of high-risk individuals for LDCT lung cancer screening is an important research topic in current health sciences. Several absolute risk models (ARMs) for lung cancer, which estimate lung cancer risk in an upcoming time interval based on known risk factors for a healthy individual in a population accounting for competing causes of death, have been proposed. Because tobacco smoking is a dominating risk factor for lung cancer, most ARMs are developed for ever-smokers, and among them, the PLCO2012 model performed excellently. In East Asia, 30-40% of patients with lung cancer are never-smokers and 60-80% of females with lung cancer are never-smokers.
