Awake chronicles the indigenous-led resistance to the Dakota Access Pipeline (DAPL) where the Water Protectors, the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe and supporters, began their peaceful resistance in April 2016. A collaborative project between directors Josh Fox, James Spione and Myron Dewey, Awake tells the stories behind the unprecedented fight for clean water, our environment and the future of our planet. Director Myron Dewey and Pat Kincaid, attorney for the Sioux Tribe in the DAPL case, are in Taiwan for a tour around the country for Awake. In the discussion following the screening, Dewey and Kincaid will share their experiences and engage in discussions on the importance and power of resistance in Taiwan indigenous natural resources and land issues with the audience. 保護土地和水源，是全世界原住民族都在努力的事情。 美國立岩原住民保留地的抗議行動從2016年4月份就開始了，當時立岩蘇族部落（Standing Rock Sioux Tribe）的成員便開始設營，以阻止施工的進行。這些抗議者們被稱為「水的守護者」－他們為了保護密蘇里河不受輸油管建設的污染，採取了和平的方式來反抗施工。過程中，他們的營地受到了警察的強力回擊，包括投放催淚彈、使用橡膠子彈，以及在零度以下的天氣噴水。此外，為了找出參與抗議行動的運動人士、並探查其在營地的活動，警察們動用了各種監察手段。 即便目前紮營已經結束，但保護水源和聖地的行動仍未停歇，運動者與律師仍持續在社會倡議與法律途徑中努力著，《Awake:a dream from Standingrock》（中譯片名：北達科他聖地之戰）也記錄了這段時間族人的努力、全球的聲援、以及被警方暴力對待的過程。 本片導演之一Myron Dewey 及協助反油管抗爭的律師之一 Pat Kincaid受邀到台灣進行巡迴座談，並瞭解台灣的原住民族土地議題。本次紀錄片放映與映後座談，我們也請他們分享參與整個過程的經驗和看見學習，同時一起反思台灣社會面對自然資源掠奪與原住民族權利侵害與捍衛土地而起身反抗的重要性。 【Links】 The Standing Rock resistance and our fight for indigenous rights｜Tara Houska｜TEDWomen2017 https://ppt.cc/fjsv4x Myron Dewey & Pat Kincaid Taiwan Tour https://www.facebook.com/DKTaiwanTour2018/ FB page：https://www.facebook.com/events/2049664575255209/
