Today you are receiving the FUBiS Student Guide and the FUBiS Program and Academic Policies in order to help you prepare for your FUBiS experience (see attachment). The Student Guide contains important information regarding travel and arrival, accommodation, the orientation meeting and first day of class, Freie Universität Berlin facilities, and much more! Please print out this guide, read it carefully, and don’t forget to bring it with you to Berlin, because that’s where you will need it the most!

The FUBiS Program and Academic Policies have been established by the FUBiS Academic Board. Please make sure to read through these policies prior to your departure in order to be prepared for your upcoming FUBiS experience.

In addition, we would like to inform you about the internet portal “Distributed Campus” (www.distributed-campus.org). Distributed Campus will give you additional general information for your stay at Freie Universität Berlin: before your arrival, during the term and after your departure.

The category “Discover” provides you with a most extensive collection of material (in English and German) containing useful tips for everyday life in Berlin and general information about Germany and Berlin. This section also includes several experience reports of former Freie Universität Berlin exchange students. Additionally, German language students have the possibility to enhance their language skills by completing optional language exercises on the platform (this offer is voluntary, and FUBiS will not assess or grade any exercises you complete).

In order to use “Distributed Campus” you will have to register with the portal. Please register (only once!) under the following link:

Please choose the following options in the section “Study/Research Data”:

Program: FUBiS
Term: Term III 2017 (Summer)
Home University: FUBiS Partner Institutions
After your registration you will receive a confirmation e-mail (usually within 24 hours) and you will then be able to use the portal.
Students participating in both FUBiS summer terms do not have to register again for Distributed Campus.
