Speaker: Dr. Chiou-lan Chern (陳秋蘭教授)
Chiou-lan Chern is a Professor of English at National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU), where she teaches courses on TEFL methodology and language skills at undergraduate levels as well as reading seminars at the graduate level. Her research interests include L2 reading instruction and critical thinking, English language policies, and English teacher education. She has served as the chair of English Teaching and Research Association (ETRA). She is the coordinator of Nine-year Integrated English Curriculum Advisory Team of Ministry of Education and has also served on the committee that drafted the 12-year Education English Curriculum. Her administrative posts at NTNU included the English Department chair and Dean of Office of international Affairs. She is currently the chair of Foreign Language Section of Common Core Committee in charge of university-wide English language program at NTNU.
