2015 National Dong Hwa University Chinese Summer Program -- Information Sheet

Objectives:
To provide an educational program for expatriate youth to improve their Chinese competency in areas of listening, speaking, reading and writing, to enhance their knowledge of Chinese and Taiwanese cultures, and to deepen their understanding of the establishment and development of Taiwan, the Republic of China.

Program Features:
1.     Chinese Language classes are taught by professional instructors.
2.     Students are taught according to their levels and the student number of each class will be below 15 in order to achieve the efficiency of language teaching.
3.     Free Chinese Clligraphy & Bookmark Making activity are included!

Prospective Learners Are:
1.     NDHU students.
2.     Foreigners who are residents of Taiwan.

Academic Calendar & Classroom:
1.    Academic Calendar: 2015.07.20~ 2015.08.28
The Summer Chinese program will last for 6 weeks and provide 36 hours of Chinese instruction in total.
Time of Chinese classes: Monday, Wednesday and Friday (AM 10:00~12:00)
Time of Cultural Activity: At afternoon on Friday (14:00-16:00).
2.    Classroom: D207 at H.S.S.B II

Registration Period: 2015.06.29 ~ 2015.07.10
1.  Students and expatriates can download the Application Form from CLC website: (http://www.clc.ndhu.edu.tw/) and deliver the application form to CLC in person.
2.     Also, you can register by filling out the application form online.

Tuition & Fees:
The total fees for participating in the program is NT$ 0 per person, which covers the tuition and handouts.

Notice that:     
Before the registration deadline (10/7/2015), the applicants need to turn in NT$1,000 for CLC (in person) as performance bond. After the program ends, CLC will refund the NT$1,000.
(**Each time, NT$500 will be deducted from performance bond when the learners are absent from class without asking for leave.)

Certification:
Every student who takes the Summer Program will receive a certificate which marks the total Chinese learning hours.
(However, students who are absent for more than one third of the total program hours will NOT be issued the certificate.)
