WildView Taiwan Film Festival in association with Wildscreen (beginning at 19:00) Venue: Room A114. B119, Environmental Science Building May 05th (Tue.) Wild Scandinavia: Finland 52 minutes Finland looks like a mosaic of water and woodland. Close to the Russian border, Finland is home to rare animals, bears and wolves that roam the swampland and the Siberian flying squirrel lives in old woodpecker nest holes. This film shows animal behavior that has never been filmed before: Oliver Goetzl and Ivo Nörenberg got first shots of a lynx in the Finnish wilderness, brilliant HD high speed shots of goldeneye chicks jumping out of their tree nest and they also filmed exciting encounters of bears, wolves and much more. Whitetailed eagles, otters and enormous catfish share the wetlands with many other species living close to the local people in this densely populated country. Besides the story of a white tailed eagle family Wild Hungary is the intimate portrait of the elusive central European wildlife featuring some never before filmed animal behaviors like dancing deer, wintering catfish or the spectacular run of the asp fish.
